This is the published order, the same on every page of this site. It is not a merit list.

The eight questions to compare on

Open two or three operators in separate tabs and answer these in order. The first two eliminate most of the list before you have spent any time on the rest.

1. Does it accept registrations from the country you are actually in. This is in the operator terms and it is the fastest way to shorten a shortlist.
2. Does it accept a payment method you can genuinely use, in the direction you need, both in and out.
3. Does it price the competitions you follow. Look for a Somali or East African fixture, not just for the Premier League.
4. How many markets are priced on one fixture you care about. Count them, and do not take anyone's word for the number.
5. Add the implied probabilities across one market to get the margin. Do the same at the other operator on the same market.
6. What does verification ask for, and does the name on your document match the name you will register with.
7. What is the bonus condition, in multiples and days, not in headline value.
8. Where are the deposit limit, time out and self exclusion controls, and how many taps away are they.

Question five is the only one that gives you a number comparable between two operators without trusting anyone's rating. The odds tools on this site will do the arithmetic.

What we deliberately do not compare

• Withdrawal times. These vary by method, by country and by account state, and a single figure would mislead.
• Licence claims. We describe the whole list as offshore and leave the licence detail to the operator's own page.
• Scores or star ratings. What has been tested so far is set out on the methodology page.
• Availability by country. That is the operator's decision and it changes without notice.

Important. 18 plus only. Comparing carefully reduces avoidable mistakes. It does not make betting profitable.
